This policy has been in place since 2000.
Individual users may have different policies. Such differing policies will be documented on their individual websites, if no policy is described then this will be the prevailing policy.
Incoming EMAIL
Unless prior agreement regarding confidentiality of incoming EMAIL has been made between the ACTUAL recipient and the originator then the recipient is entitled to assume that the information has been placed into the public domain by the sender regardless of any statements or disclaimers which may be within the EMAIL or subsequent communications.
No distinction is made between manually generated, automatically generated or EMAIL sent as a result of computer malfunction or software “infection”. The administrator or user of the originating computer is regarded as responsible for the sending of the message.
The recipient therefore reserves the right to do anything they like with such incoming email. This includes, but is not limited to, publication, disclosure to third parties and taking advantage of the information supplied.
In short, if you don’t accept these conditions them please don’t send us EMAIL without first checking with the recipient.
Please also note that recipients within the X31.COM domain reserve the right to make a charge for the handling of unsolicited EMAIL (spam). These charges are available on request and may be levied without prior notice. Ask before you spam.
The sending of EMAIL directly or indirectly to the X31.COM domain constitutes acceptance of these conditions.
Outgoing EMAIL
Outgoing email is considered to be public unless prior agreement has been reached between the originator and recipient. The recipient is expected to take reasonable steps to maintain confidentiality if the content is personal in nature but they are not obliged to take such measures. All messages are copyright of the originator.
Whilst reasonable attempts are made to prevent the distribution of informational viruses no responsibility can be taken for any damage which they may cause. It is up to the recipient to check the messages for content and to use a secure operating system where appropriate.
